Een zorgkantoorregio is een groepering van gemeenten die samenhangt met de uitvoering van de Algemene Wet Bijzondere Ziektekosten (AWBZ). Een zorgkantoor, nauw gelieerd aan één van de AWBZ-verzekeraars, voert de AWBZ uit namens alle AWBZ-verzekeraars voor alle verzekerden in zijn regio, dus ook voor verzekerden die bij andere AWBZ-verzekeraars staan ingeschreven.
